Giungla produces fuzz drenched indie pop

Italian born artist, Ema Drei, known as Giungla (Jungle), released her latest single ‘Better Than Ever’.

Released on her own label Camo, the single is a cathartic three minute blast of fuzz drenched guitar riffs, driving rhythms and Ema’s distinctive vocals.

“Sometimes I find myself walking for miles until I realize I almost never look up,” Ema explains about the single. “I look at my phone, pass people that are walking slow, make sure I don’t step in dog shit, avoid eye contact, basically anything but actually observing what’s around.

“I think growing up at times can be the same: you’re so busy trying to optimize everything and being efficient that it feels you just have the time to look at where you put your feet and not much of anything else, like enjoying the little details. A song for all the times I said everything was good but it kinda wasn’t.”

Giungla has just come back hot off the press from SXSW Festival in Texas the Italian girl has a lot of potential. Bringing her energy out of the studio, Ema’s live shows are as equally unmissable. Armed with just samplers, an electric guitar and her voice, her breath-taking and visceral performances have already seen her share stages with the likes of The xx, Foals, Grimes and Battles.
