Brighton-based five-piece Fickle Friends are back with a new track ‘Hard To Be Myself’. This follows the release of their newest EP ‘Glue’ which was released back in August. The band formed back in 2013, not releasing any material until 2015 when they were signed to Polydor Records and debut EP ‘Velvet’ was released.
Their newest track incorporates an electronic synth-fuelled sound with Shiner’s enthralling vocals. The new track doesn’t step too far out of the band’s usual style which has already caught the attention of thousands of fans all around the world. The song has an 80s party vibe, with incredibly catchy beats and faultless harmonies.
The song talks about being hurt as a result of being who you truly are and how difficult it is to become carefree. It states that letting your guard down is hard and so sometimes it is easier to do so by drinking away your fear which is seen in the lyrics “So fill me up, I’m insecure, Open up another”.
