Doves announce sixth album ‘Constellations For The Lonely’

Indie rock outfit Doves have returned with their first new music in over four years and announce a new album for release in early 2025.

The Manchester giants release new single ‘Renegade’, the first single taken from the band’s sixth album ‘Constellations For The Lonely’ is confirmed for release on Friday, 14th February 2025 after joining EMI North.

Signing off their last chapter with the release of their third UK chart-peaking album, 2020’s boundary-pushing, The Universal Want, the release of ‘Renegade’ continues where Doves left off.

Reading from the same page on their new single’s sense of dystopian drama, all three Doves own sense of change, uncertainty and determination pervades the intricate, Goodwin-fronted collage of cinematic sound.

The bands drummer, vocalist and co-songwriter, Andy Williams says: “Looking at everyone’s lives over recent years, and considering the news at the moment, ‘Renegade’ feels a lot more loaded in retrospect.

“We wanted to go for a dystopian feel, thinking about Manchester itself over the next century or so. A totally imaginary thing… ‘Blade Runner’ set in our home city.”

Settling on the collective desire for a new album as soon as they closed the door on ‘The Universal Want’s’ No.1 success, ‘Renegade’ was the first to be written for ‘Constellations Of The Lonely’ and the last to be written in their famed creative rural retreat. Physically unanchored, waving off a totem of their shared past and facing personal mountains to climb, a new, intense, filmic, classic Doves album was carefully nurtured.

Released on multiple formats, including standard and special edition vinyl, CD, cassette and digital, the confirmed track listing for Doves’ ‘Constellations For The Lonely’ is as follows:

1. Renegade
2. Cold Dreaming
3. In The Butterfly House
4. Strange Weather
5. A Drop In The Ocean
6. Last Year’s Man
7. Stupid Schemes
8. Saint Teresa
9. Orlando
10. Southern Bell

Utrecht quartet Banji have announced the release date of the debut album Freshcakes with the release of new single ‘Cornflakes’. Hotly-tipped for a successful 2022 following their ICM Awards Best International Act nomination, the band are harnessing the power of technicolour fun against a greyscale world to showcase their brand of indie-pop. New single ‘Cornflakes’ is a funky and quirky slice of pop with electronic patchwork-smaples and bouncing vocals. Thematically, it covers the consequence of submitting to small cravings, and the bigger overall issues this can cause. Vocalist Morris Brandt explains: “I’m prone to developing little addictions pretty easily. Just the tiny
