Twenty-three-year-old musician Daragh Wearen has released his new single ‘All Those Things’ as the melodic dream pop artist breaks out his new solo career.

Originally hailing from Dublin, Ireland, the singer-songwriter moved to the Norwegian capital Oslo. He made some the music scene with his band Company Ink in 2018/2019.

As the guitarist and songwriter of Company Ink, Daragh earned a name for himself through his distinctively melodic guitar parts and funky bass lines.

They earned a nomination for indie band of the year by P3, (Norway’s biggest radio station) as well as playing festivals like by:Larm, Øya, Slottsfjell and Pstereo to name a few.

‘All Those Things’ is Daragh’s fourth single and it displays the heart on its sleeve with the sonics of British 80s guitar pop, but with a punch and crispness associated more with contemporary pop sounds.

Lyrically, the song picks up where the last one left off. It tells the story of a person coming of age, of how what we want to become changes, and the person we once wanted to be, disappears.

“The song is about a person whose self-image changes as they get older, and how we lose some of the grand ambitions we once had,” adds Daragh Wearen.

Recoding and playing everything myself in his home studio, the latest song, ‘All Those Things’ however, contains additional guitars by Herman Wildhagen. His third solo single “Stay the Same” has also been played consistently on Norwegian radio and has been on rotation at NRK P3.

The young artist has bags of potential. Having already proven that with one band, now it’s his time to shine on the solo stage. We can’t wait to hear more from the Irishman. Listen to the single below and please leave an ICM Star Rating out of 10!
