CLOSEUP Artist Spotlight: LONA

lona

This week, London quartet LONA speak with CLOSEUP for our Artist Spotlight feature ahead of two shows next month in London and Sheffield!

LONA, it’s great to have a catch up with ya boys! We love your music as you well know. In the next few weeks you take on one a huge London headline show, what should we expect!?!

F**king carnage. We’ve already sold twice the capacity so get there early or you’ll miss out!

You had a huge 2019 on the live side of things, what was the highlight?

Selling out our first show as LONA at O2 Islington in April was special! We only had one song out at the time and to see the support from all our fans just insane. Camden Assembly in dec was sick too great to see so many faces in the crowd!! it blew our minds

Your tunes in this band and past have been listened to hundreds of thousands of times across the world as Spotify informs us, Spotify is now such a big player in the industry, how important do you think it is for acts?

Of course Spotify is important, and is a great platform for people to listen to and discover our music, but our main focus is writing music we love and performing it to people who love it too.

If you created a LONA Festival, and could pick three headliners, who would you go for?!

LONA, Kings of Leon, Twenty One Pilots

Any pre-show rituals? We’ve heard rumours of a few things regarding some questionable backstage tunes..

Questionable?!?!?!?! How dare you. All we’ll say is we have a great appreciation for all genres and we won’t let a bad word be said against “Unwritten” by Natasha Beddingfield.
