Blake Collins delivers 60s power-pop with poetic lyrics and reverb-soaked guitars

Want to travel back in time to the 1960s? Well, we have the perfect new artist who will do just that – Blake Collins.

The British-American singer-songwriter has the nonchalant for The Beatles and The KInks which comes through his music in uncanny style.

Bitingly groovy piano, reverb-soaked guitars and high-energy drums were the slick trademarks of the power-pop greats and even Blake’s McCartney-esque voice has the harmony and pitch to match.

His new single ‘I’m Not Gonna Take It Anymore’ is the third single from his forthcoming full-length album, There’s Nowhere Like Here. It’s about quitting the reliance on others and stepping into a new self-confidence.

Following up on 2020’s ‘She Gives You That Look’ and ‘Your Love Is Good’, Blake Collins nestles you in time. The power-pop chords firmly anchor him in the rock and roll age and his lyrics are catchy and easy to sing along to.

From topics of love, self-confidence and more love, Blake’s poetic lyrics, passionate vocals, and honest, emotive performances will wow over any crowd.

Drawing influence from  modern rock bands like Dr. Dog, The Shins, and Weezer, Blake arrives upon a sound and vibe that is contemporary as well as timeless. The unforgettable acoustics to the driving bass lines and splashy drums, Blake Collins’ power-pop punch will be pleasantly stuck on the tip of your tongue for days.

Apostles make rousing and melodic indie pop-rock

Relishing in shimmering indie rock, North-West band Apostles are a bundle of shiny melodic pop and nostalgic summer vibes. Returning with new single ‘Sixteen’ the Wigan-based five-piece is a soaring, button-bright, indie-pop masterpiece aimed to throw you back to those glorious summer days. Harbouring an air of swagger, the song’s twisting riffs and evoking lyrics as the band say it’s “reminiscing over good times with someone when you’re going through a tough patch with that very same person”, its sentiment familiar to many of us, and just another reason why Apostles’ own brand of indie is as resonant as it
