Do you feel like the build up to your summer is missing a dash of alternative tropical entertainment? Have no fear; Irish duo All Tvvins have you covered with their latest single ‘Alone Together’.
The duo provides us with their first new track since ‘IIVV’ was released featuring singer-songwriter James Vincent McMorrow, ‘Alone Together’ flaunts tropically flavoured verses with a strident, anthemic hook that’s a clear step away from anything that featured on ‘IIVV’.
The foundations of the track date back to 2013 when Conor met another rising musician in the form of James Vincent McMorrow. Late last year All Tvvins later caught up with the singer-songwriter after they had both played shows in Leeds. They kept in touch, and when McMorrow was later sent an early demo of ‘Alone Together’, the collaboration idea was born.
“We thought it was pretty much done, but then James changed our minds,” admits Lar. “He gave it a total vocal re-haul and added some amazing production ideas.”
Most of the new tracks emerged on piano and synths before being fleshed out into a band dynamic. Inspired by a whole world of influences (Spotify pop playlists, classical, Brian Eno, tUnE-yArDs), Lar describes them as being “varied and extreme” and “emotionally charged”, while Conor notes that his interest in keys means that he has been writing a lot more on piano.
‘Alone Together’ displays a melodically matured and distinctively developed sound from the boys to create blissful anticipation for the new record without destroying that classic All Tvvins sound.
With the announcement of a summer tour imminent and a second record undoubtedly underway, All Tvvins are on nothing but a rapid rise to the top of the alternative world.
