Adam French unveils ‘My Addiction’ music video

Adam French had a great 2017 with the launch of his ‘Weightless’ EP and was tipped as part of Huw Stephens’ ‘Alternative Tips for 2018′, as well as gaining backing from Communion Music.

Adam French is bursting into the new year with the visuals for My Addiction. French takes a turn from enclosed, almost claustrophobic spaces to wide open landscapes, the video is a wholly disorienting experience of the dark scopes of fixation and dependence.

His talent lies in the fact he is a self-taught multi-instrumentalist who produces rich songs, full of depth, honesty and a cinematic quality. New EP Weightless is a beautiful, intimate collection of tracks.

Songs and songwriting have always been a constant companion in Adam’s life. Adam cut his teeth on the local gig circuit before the opportunities of the capital lured him to London where he now lives. Adam recently supported Now Now at London’s Omeara, and also joined Jake Bugg’s solo acoustic tour for some dates.

Speaking about the new EP, Adam details; “‘My Addictionis a song about temptation and withdrawal.

“Often raw emotion is too powerful to ignore and at some point, you have to come to terms with the inevitable, whether right or wrong. Such is life.”

For Adam, 2018 starts with a sold-out headline show in London, followed by a second headline show in Manchester. More to follow!

Music is about honest feeling. This tends to be forgotten in the modern day industry, where we get so caught up with new artists and intense instrumentals, that recorded music is so studio edited that it’s going stale…

ICM Ones To Watch 2021: DEAD PONY

Glaswegian indie rock duo DEAD PONY are next in the ICM Ones To Watch 2021 series as they look set to continue on an impressive 2020.  Comprising of Anna Shields (lead vocals, guitar), Blair Crichton (lead guitar, backing vocals) – supported by Liam Adams (bass) and Aidan McAllister (drums) – they are just one of many rock bands emerging from the Scottish music landscape.  Releasing three singles last year ‘23, Never Me’, ‘Sharp Tongues’ and ‘Everything is Easy’, DEAD PONY have blown us away with their sheer grit and determination. High-octane punk riffs and foot-stomping beats rifle through the speakers
