The Vaccines

Are The Vaccines in the studio?

There has been some rumours surrounding the possible return of a band who were at the forefront of this decade’s indie scene; The Vaccines. Here’s a quick rundown of the band for those not in the know.

The Vaccines formed in West London back in 2010 consisting of Justin Young (Guitar, Vocals), Freddie Cowan (Lead Guitar), Árni Árnason (bass), and Pete Robertson (drums). The band released their first album in 2011 titled “What Did You Expect From The Vaccines?” which set their style and tone deeply into the music scene as well as gaining the title of best-selling debut album of the year.

Not a year later they released a second album “Come of Age” which reached number one in the album charts. Finally, in 2015 they released “English Graffiti” their third LP.

The band have been compared to the likes of Jesus and the Mary Chain and have sold out shows consistently from their first album even drawing audience members such as Marcus Mumford and Stevie Nicks.

The question remains though; are they back? Confirmations of them playing in festivals have been appearing throughout the year (Y NOT, Truck and Boardmasters Festival and many more) and they have been posting these to their official accounts, but on Friday (19/05/17) the band updated their Facebook page’s profile photo, not that big a deal? Yesterday (22/05/17) they updated their cover photo with what seems like new logo artwork.

All of this combined leads to the possibility of new material from one of the most influential modern bands out there and we’re more than excited by this prospect. Songs to go along to our teenage angst and twenty-year-old mistakes will be back…hopefully.
