Modern Age Music Song of the Day: The Motive – ‘You’

‘You’ is the 9th single from South West London band The Motive, released yesterday with B-Side ‘Meet Me (In The Pouring Rain)’.

The new track is a hook-filled, feel-good summer indie-pop bop, with jangly guitar riffs and treated vocals creating an 80’s nostalgia.

‘You’ was written by lead singer Max at the height of the good weather spell in lockdown, a reflection of the songs joyous and uplifting sound.

He explained: “We came together at our rehearsal studios and arranged the song as a band which is where the song went from a steady ballad to a fast-paced indie banger!”

Both the songs were recorded at Panic Button Studios in Hampton and produced by Steve Lyon who has worked with Paul McCartney and Depeche Mode.
