KIN return with sunset hued single ‘L.O.V.E’

KIN are back with their brand new single ‘L.O.V.E’, the follow up to their devastatingly cool debut ‘Sharing Light’. Teasing us with bright, indie-electronica melodies, that tells tales of summer love.
Immediately casting a hazy, sunset hue with subtle vocal flutters and bass, close your eyes and you can almost feel the glitter on your skin. A song about letting go, celebrating the free spirits – all personified by the Stevie Nicks showmanship, no festival tent big enough to contain it!
Taking centre stage is the oriental style guitar, looping and accelerating to a heavier, indie dance headrush. Fusing high neck jangles reminiscent of ‘Foals’ with a ‘Nilufer Yanya’ punch elevates the riff to earworm territory.
The body of the track is built upon a relaxed, dance flavoured drum beat with a brooding bass that melts between the symbols – keeping the track grooving. These rhythm section ripples are open to interpretation, playing with our own festival memories. One of my stand out moments is the bridge, the calm before the storm. Taking those relaxed toms; subverting the gentle to tempt the crowd with a foot-stomping breakdown. Allowing the vocals to simply glide on top, the ethereality in Grace’s breath has room to grow. There’s a nostalgic femininity, a ‘Weyes Blood’ rasp that lingers on certain syllables.
The track is tapered with a pop savvy, all leading to a satisfying hook without being too obvious or structured. ‘L.O.V.E’ feels personal and relates to *that moment*. The final chorus acting as the peak of the night, the highlight of the weekend. Encompassing the tingle, the butterflies that can only be a result of a summer festival.
KIN have created a ‘loving and freeing environment’ with this track. ‘L.O.V.E’ is for each and every one of us stuck at home, so dance in front of that mirror and chant along! A judgement-free space hosted by confident, self-assured female prowess. You are bound to fall in love with KIN.
‘L.O.V.E’ is out now on all major platforms and keep updated with the band on Instagram @KINbandoffical – exciting things on the way. Let us know what you think and leave an ICM Star Rating out of 10.
