Modern Age Music Song of the Day: Broken Hands – ‘For The Night’

Broken Hands have shared new single ‘For The Night’, the second cut to be taken from forthcoming album ‘Split in Two’, out August 7th via SO Recordings.
The new single is a change of pace from the Canterbury band, known for their riff-heavy rock tracks. Showing a new side, ‘For The Night’ is a thoughtful, reflective and wonderfully curated ballad, with a formidable lead vocal from Dale Norton.
Norton says: “‘For The Night’ as a song talks about being separated from loved ones during lengthy tours, which to be honest is exactly how I’ve felt during lock down as me and my partner have had to live separately. It’s crazy that life can separate us, regardless of our decisions.
“This track is definitely the odd one out on this record, but we think it’s important to show a different side of what we do musically. We thought what better way for a rock band to do that than release a ballad.”
