Honey Lung

London quartet Honey Lung have dropped new EP ‘Post Modern Motorcade Music’ today. Single ‘Big’ is our Song of the Day; an endearing and emotive piece of shoegaze which lead singer Jamie Batten says is the most important track on the EP to him.

“Big was a song I wrote last year when I was up in Edinburgh for the fringe festival,” Jamie explained. “It was meant as an ode to a time I had there, which felt very isolated and gave me a lot of time to think about my choices and relationships I was facing at the time. It’s quite a personal song, it was a confusing time and things weren’t straight forward. It was kind of a comfort to write that song,

“I didn’t think I would write a song like that in a time like those. I’m usually quite unproductive when I’m going through a rough patch, and its only in retrospect I can really write a song about it. I think Big is the most important song to me on the EP, it still affects me and is a comfort to me today.”

The full EP is out now via Big Scary Records, showcasing five tracks carefully chosen and constructed by the band.

Jamie added: “I guess you could say Post Modern Motorcade Music is somewhat a coming of age EP, it really brings into focus the hardship you go through, and the responsibility of becoming an adult and the relationships with your friends and loved ones that go with that, the good, the bad and the ugly.”
