Whirlwind of emotional indie pop by Spectator

Spectator

Dream pop couple Spectator sweep in a whirlwind of emotions for new single ‘Weight’ taken from their upcoming sophomore album.

The husband and wife duo Megan Rooney and Jeffery Albert will be releasing ‘Charlie, Baby’ on April 12 which contains songs drawn from personal and societal experiences of loss.

The couple from St Louis, Missouri, break out their emotions through a vast layering of upbeat guitars and the unbolted feeling of living in the moment as it begins to fade away itself.

Meeting in 2006 in St. Louis, and after years of playing each other’s songs, they gradually blended their individual ideas to create a new sound.

Bright, glossy melodies pulse like a rush of blood, adrenaline in full gear. ‘Weight’ savours the bliss of the moment before having to let go. Recorded in St. Louis at Native Sound Recording by Kevin Bachmann (Summer Magic), ‘Charlie, Baby’ draws from is lyrical interpretations of lonely nights and empty dreams. Each song has a different element in seeking fulfilment.
