Simple Fiction return with addictive rock-hitter ‘GREY’

Forming in Guildford in 2017, Simple Fiction have quickly gone from strength to strength; with their latest track ‘GREY’ unquestionably serving as their finest work yet.

The trio have crafted a raw sound that’s reminiscent of the UK Indie scene’s big-hitters, whilst still letting their own individuality shine through.

‘GREY’ serves as Simple Fiction’s first release of 2019 and proves their time locked away in the studio evolving their sound wasn’t time wasted. Whilst their refreshingly honest lyricism sets them apart from the seemingly endless onslaught of British Indie bands, the youthful exuberance embodied within ‘GREY’ feels primed to fill the cavernous expanses of huge venues in the UK and beyond very soon.

Discussing the single, Simple Fiction said: “‘GREY’ vocalises the internal struggles of conforming to a routine that has a negative impact on you.

“The lyrics centre around the feelings of exhaustion and frustration that come with a testing job and lifestyle. With a slow-building musical foundation for the introspective lyrical content to unravel over, ‘GREY’ combines all of these elements to create an energetic and definitive ending, marking the first in a set of new releases planned for later in the year.”

With their mixture of addictive guitar riffs, deep grooves and honest vocal hooks, Simple Fiction have quickly asserted themselves as ones to watch. Effortlessly combining anthem-worthy hooks with introspective lyricism, the band manage to epitomize the feelings of a whole generation who are feeling increasingly betrayed and exasperated.

Given that their live set is already crammed with exhilarating exuberance, and their upcoming releases embody the band’s boundless ambition – the sky’s the limit for this talented three-piece.
