Ones To Watch 2020: Valeras

Valeras are on the ICM Ones To Watch 2020 list as one of Reading’s hottest new rock outfits.

The female-led five-piece has been on our radar for a while under the name Area 52 before rebranding in 2018 as Valeras. Personally I enjoyed their old work just as much as I do under their new project which is growing from strength to strength.

With ‘Painkiller’ and ‘Playing With A Gun’ – which features on the Sound of 2019 Playlist – under their belts the band have all the goods stored up in the locker; catchy guitar riffs, beautiful vocals and lyrical prowess.

In the coming 12 months, we can expect a six-date UK tour for Independent Venue Week, new music and plenty of festival appearances.
