Artist Spotlight – Wax Colour

Wax Colour

Chelmsford born Wax Colour are this week’s Artist Spotlight as they rocket up the indie popularity charts.

If you like indie music that edges on grungier tones, Wax Colour will definitely be for you. The 4-piece consisting of members Charlton Paine, Micheal Broadway, Mark Ellis and Josh Grove released their first single ‘IDK’ back at the start of this year and since then have continued to become more and more popular, especially on social media.

Their second release ‘Liberty’ is by far my favourite of the material they have so-far released. This being for many reasons including the distinct unique vocals and the stunning guitar riffs. ‘Liberty’ was such a hit for me because I feel it is where you see Wax Colour take themselves seriously as musical artists and put a lot of effort into their instrumentals and vocals.

Their latest release ‘Dreamz’ is a lot faster and funkier. This upbeat tone suits the band, showing their diversity in being able to create songs in all different tones. Hopefully they continue to create different styles of music.

As previously mentioned, Wax Colour are already very popular amongst social media and my prediction is that they are only just getting started. With long breaks between releases, it is clear to see that they are spending time and effort in creating the perfect material for their fans.
