2018 Ones To Watch #18 – Luna Bay

Luna Bay

I have completely fallen in love with Luna Bay since we discovered the London-based quartet in the summer of 2016 with the release of their debut single ‘Colours’.

Hailing from different parts of the country and meeting at college in London lead singer and guitarist Connor O’Mara (London), bassist Sammy Penniston (Buckinghamshire), guitarist Rye Milligan (Cardigan Bay) and drummer Alex Ross (Suffolk) they have developed their sound to create euphoric atmospheres with a handful of dirt and driving edge.

The band have moved from strength to strength with each single release, Luna Bay have a big year ahead of themselves. Already with backing from Radio X and BBC Introducing, the bands’ mix of anthemic pop and sunkissed rock has been rocking crowds up and down the country.

My favourite track is their hit single ‘Hometown‘. Lyrically, lead singer O’Mara is musing over the heavy heart that comes with leaving a lover behind, and spell out his promises of a return in the future, adding a sense of sanguinity that keeps in tow with the upbeat flavour of the track.

Expect new music and plenty of tour dates, so be prepared to get taken for one hell of a ride. You can catch them next at Hoxton Square Bar & Kitchen, London. Tickets available here.
