Voodoo Bandits return with ‘Chandler’

Our favourite Isle of Man rockers Voodoo Bandits returned with their new single ‘Chandler’.

Hot on the heels of their previous single ‘I’m A Loser’, the four-piece are back with a nostalgic slice of pop-rock with 00s guitars and Neon Trees-esque vocals.

Combining influences from the sounds of West Coast USA and Australia they carve out their own raucous and fresh yet nostalgic signature sound.

‘Chandler’ is a fun, energetic blend of saturation and drive as the track’s fuzzy yet clear guitars, distinctive melodies and boisterous fast beats sets Voodoo Bandits above the rest. Lyrically, the track covers life’s struggles to create a feeling of questionable optimism and carefree relief.

Their partnership with engineer and producer Darren Lawson (Alfie Templeman, Bloc Party, Ben Howard) has seen the four-piece grow with each release. Having mixed their last three songs, Voodoo Bandits are in a new dimension as their sound continues to develop into future chart-topping anthems.

Listen to ‘Chandler’ below and check the band out on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

ICM Rating: Voodoo Bandits - 'Chandler'

8.8

Voodoo Bandits are once again seen on top form as 'Chandler' puts the outfit into a new dimension. Immersed in West Coast USA pop-rock territory, the band are continuing to mark their mark on their music industry, and they're getting noticed too.

Pros
  • New experimentation is superb
  • The band's trademark 'surf-pop' is flawless
Cons
  • I think there's more avenues for these four to explore
