Video Premiere: 485C – Kapow!

485c

In the heart of London, there’s a bright red band called 485C, who kicked off 2018 with a short sharp shock of winding guitars, louche vocals and dreamy harmonies, all wrapped up in under three minutes.

Now premiering on ICM is the official music video for ‘Kapow!’!

The track sounds like something you would find in a cartoon chase – their reminiscence of The Strokes early work shines through on their reverby and electronic sound.

The band themselves are hitting at more of a “not giving a fuck” attitude when it comes to the indie scene, playing consistent free shows because they want to, an admiration of Fat White Family, and no real desire for fame. Doing it for the music, and really that’s what it’s all about.

Speaking about the video, Rory McGowan, the guitarist said: “The video is based on a continuous shot of a journey I make from rehearsal to home.

“The foreground was just an experiment, messing around with the speed and direction of time of short innocuous actions.

“As a fan of Edgar Wright and Christopher Nolan, tight editing and the subject of time have always been an obsession and inspiration.”

The band play with a sold-out show with The Rifles tomorrow at The Garage and will also be playing at the Old Blue Last on the 15th March and Brighton at the Hope & Ruin on the 18th March.
