Sitting between alt pop and melodic indie rock, Sheffield’s Sunset Collective have just released their latest single ‘Happiness is a Hangover’.
The five-piece formed in November 2019 and haven’t stopped since. Their first show put the band straight into the deep end on the O2 Academy Sheffield Main Stage and instantly floated with their melodic, catchy, anthemic crowd pleasers.
From summertime anthems to explosive dance floor ready indie bangers, Sunset Collective immerse you into their music where you can’t help yourself but move with the groove.
‘Happiness is a Hangover’ is just a perfect example of this. The vocal hooks in the chorus and melodic riffs are sonically gripping. It’s a slow burner which gradually grows anthemically where jangly guitars break the shackles and express their true might.
Written by lead guitarist, Alex Biggin, the track is about being content with having a hangover because you had such a good night.
Whilst 2020 hasn’t exactly provided many nights out, ‘Happiness is a Hangover’ will get you looking ahead to this year and hopefully some good times ahead.
Each member of Sunset collective bring their own tastes to the table and the finished article is perfect for your driving playlist. The band’s formulated indie pop-rock will be stuck in your head for months to come.
