Oh sugar, Mallory Knox have returned and my god isn’t this track is good. Having already dropped their third album this year, the five-piece from Cambridgeshire are not wasting time in the recording studio.
Packed up tight with the band’s signature driving hooks and the essence of a singlaong chorus, Sugar brings out the traditional house style. That hard-hitting, melodically euphoric, outspoken and open-hearted tracks.
Bassist and songwriter Sam Douglas explains; “It’s a song about feeling completely isolated and alone in a world where it feels like everyone has someone to lean on except you. You’re driven to a point of desperation, which makes you feel that having someone for a very short period of time (ie. a one night stand) is better than having no one at all.”
