Leeds-based indie rock quartet The Dunwells have released their latest single ‘Hurts’, in anticipation for their second album Light Up The Sky, which is due for release on February 26th. The band is comprised of brothers, Joe and Dave Dunwell and long-time school friends Rob Clayton and Adam Taylor. This tight-knit group from Leeds describe their music as honest indie music filled with “heart felt lyrics and powerful melodies.
The Dunwells sound is bigger and more polished than before. Part of the credit for this must go to producer Steve Harris (U2, Kaiser Chiefs, Kodaline). However, it also reflects the band’s growing maturity and greater confidence in their music talents.
Light Up The Sky is said to be about “being a human being with the same emotions as everyone else”, and fans will be drawn in to the universal applicability of the songs message and the underlying sense of hope running through “Hurt”; perhaps best characterized by the lyric, “it hurts sometimes, but everything will be alright”.
