Rising from the darkness at lightning speed, LOYAL have released their debut EP ‘Light Up For You’ and the title track is our Song Of The Week here on ICM!
The Brighton-based group take a heavy synth and electro-pop to another level in their latest EP which includes tracks Rest In Colour, Tower Over All, and their hit single featured on FIFA 18, Moving as One.
The song, ‘Light Up For You’ is a sweet track which has a beautiful beat that packs energy, especially in the chorus when the beat drops as the band explore themselves by writing a song about different chapters in their lives.
“LOYAL is a concept project, we are attempting to tell a story with our music.” they explain. “Each song portrays different chapters and scenes, though the story has not been released in order so how it’s pieced together is down to each individual.
“The aim is to keep our songs ambiguous, so they can lend themselves to traditional subject matters such as love and sex, as writers we want the meaning you find to tell you more about yourself than it does about us, like an audible Rorschach test.
“‘Light Up For You’ represents the end of our first chapter. In this moment we talk of the highs of hitting rock bottom and thrill of a new start”.
LOYAL play two special shows in London and Brighton to celebrate the EP’s release.
