Making a grand return with their new single ‘Love Like Waves’, everyone’s favourite indie-pop trio Friendly Fires are Song Of The Week!
Six years since their second album ‘Pala’, the St. Albans trio have finally put a smile on peoples faces as we are embraced with a song that can only be described as a tropical pop masterpiece.
The band recently played at the O2 Academy Brixton (April 5) where fans were treated to the new single for the first time. The song was previously shared back in 2012 but has had some needed tweaks from Mark Ralph sees Friendly Fires strutting into their new era.
Combining the synths sound from the debut album and the upbeat topical funk from ‘Pala’ to create a joyous pop belter. Friendly Fires have all been about fun and that’s exactly what they’ve stuck to. The carefree drums and danceable rhythm section comes in perfect timing as the summer is quickly approaching.
‘Love Like Waves’ is just one of a number of songs Friendly Fires have been roadtesting during their recent shows so expect more exciting tropical pop to come.
