sarpa salpa

Following a trio of impressive singles in 2019 Sarpa Salpa have unleashed their debut EP ‘Say Something’ yesterday (Friday, January 3rd).

The indie pop quartet made great strides last year which saw them feature on the ICM Sounds of 2019 Playlist with their single ‘Before It Goes Dark’ as well as blow away critics with their cranked up-tempo and dance-floor roots.

The lead track of the same name; ‘Say Something’ sees the band hit out with a stompier, synth powered banger which has had crowds at their live shows hooked from the opening bars.

The EP also features fan favourites ‘Lost Time’ and ‘Paralysed’ from the Northampton-based outfit which are anthemic pop/rock anthems featuring bold guitars and a well-driven drum beat to keep that energetic spark alive.

Hit single ‘Before It Goes Dark’ s darker, bolder and more sophisticated. It outlines the frustration of not being able to stop the inevitable and is certainly their darkest song on the EP.

The five-track EP then closes with an acoustic rendition of their BBC Introducing Radio 1 Track of the Week ‘Casanova’ from earlier in 2019. Right from the get-go, you can tell this is a more refined song, bursting straight in with meaningful guitar work.

The guys; Marcus, George, Ethan & Charlie have recently been joined by Meg on Keys bringing in another layer to the live show, and Sarpa Salpa will take EP on the road for a run of dates in January and February and beyond at venue near you.
