King No-One are an indie rock band based in York have taken the time to share for a quick Q and A session with us. Their sharp melodic and rhythmic sound promises a lot. They have already released a debut EP ‘Millenium’ in 2014 and with more tracks in the pipeline, there are a lot more promising thing to come.

  1. Tell us one quirkier thing about you?

“We have a dance routine that we’re very very proud of. Before we hit the stage we pull it out…”

  1. How did the name ‘King No-one’ happen?

“We believe everyone is born equal and that no one should be born into extra rights than others.”

  1. What music inspires you when writing songs?

“Really difficult question, if there is something it’ll be subconscious as the music I write doesn’t sound anything like the kind of music we listen too. Song inspiration always comes from emotions and particular feelings in given situations, sometimes even the lack of feeling in a moment where feelings are obliged.”

  1. What was the first song you remember listening to?

“Babybird – Because you’re gorgeous. Haha, It was a big radio hit when I was first learning to speak, so ‘Your gorgeous’ was one of the first things I said; always a charmer. But my first love was Spoon – Everything hits at once back in 2001. I couldn’t believe it when I heard it.”

  1. What have you got lined up for in 2016?

“Our next single ‘Stay Close’ is released on March the 18th, there’ll be a single launch on the 17th in Leeds at Headrow house. We can’t wait for that!”
