Probably Oslo break through with debut single ‘Hideaway’

South London based indie quartet Probably Oslo has made a huge journey in the short time they’ve been together. Their recently released debut single ‘Hideaway’ has already been recognised from the likes of Amazing Radio and BBC Introducing amongst others.

The single has an intoxicating build and whilst short, offers charming lyrics, a solid and bold soundscape and effortlessly unique sound all within its two minutes and 45 seconds.

Describing the writing process, frontman Alex Rusted explained it was a ‘cathartic thing, expressing loads of subconscious feelings that we’re maybe not even aware of until we get in the practice room and start shouting them out loud, it’s a sort of therapy.”

It’s no surprise that the single has amassed so much support given that it was produced by the renowned Brett Shaw (Foals, Florence and the Machine, Swim Deep). The partnership came about when Alex Rusted and Danny McGuire randomly met Foals frontman Yannis Philippakis outside a studio. Within days the band had knocked on the studio door and within weeks, Probably Oslo and Brett had recorded ‘Hideaway’.

Probably Oslo are undoubtedly going to make it big and we’re excited for journey ahead of them. Have a listen to ‘Hideaway’ down below and in the meantime, you can rate them out of 10.
