Only Sun

A week has flown past since I saw Only Sun play at Hoxton Square Bar & Kitchen and for those that were there got to see the very first performance of this track live.

‘Happiness (All My Friends)’ is instantly recognisable as an Only Sun track. The swinging pop riffs and buoyant style of music are at the forefront of their eleven singles but this track has a slight twist. The band focus more on the rock side of the genre. It becomes more clear when you hear the song live compared to their catalogue.

Despite this, the band have maintained a strong songwriting ability, with ‘Happiness (All My Friends)’ being yet another example as Only Sun continue to knock it out the park. Illustrating their ability to write intelligent, well crafted instantaneous earworms, ‘Happiness (All My Friends)’ is just over three minutes worth of indie-pop goodness.

About this single, the band said: “The song was written is about taking time out of the every day grind to spend time with your closest friends.

“It goes out to all those friends who are there through thick and thin; that know how to pick you up from your lowest points.”
