The three piece from Brighton create grunge, psyche-rock magic. The contrast between the powerful drums/guitars and lead singer Soph’s soft yet captivating vocals forms an intimate rock mix. With their album ‘Stranger Today’ released in August, the trio played an accumulation of songs from the debut, from fast-pace rock n roll to more mellow indie.

In this portion of their almost entirely sold out UK tour, Our Girl played Southampton’s Heartbreakers. After recently celebrating their 1st Birthday, the independent venue have been booking increasingly popular bands, Our Girl being no exception. Being the perfect size for an intimate show, the venue is a great place to see an upcoming band before they hit the big stages.

The crowd, formed mostly of adults, enjoyed the music from a safe distance with more toe tapping then head banging. However, this is not to say they weren’t engaged; keen fans, of which they seemingly have many, could be seen chanting back the lyrics passionately. The Southampton audience certainty weren’t short of woos and cheers, voicing their love for Our Girl fondly.
