Pizza Crunch offer rhythmic indie rock with a scuzzy post-punk edge

Oozing early noughties indie rock and 80s post-punk Pizza Crunch are emerging to become one of the hottest new exports in Scotland.

The Glasgow-based quartet have just released their latest single ‘Coma-Inducing Gibberish’ as they pay homage to their influences of Joy Division and Arctic Monkeys.

Pizza Crunch offers joyful rhythmic hooks and stomping drum beats as laced vocals pack a punch. Whilst remaining totally unique and original, the band are a fiery ball of energy with a fuzzy guitar tinge and saw-tooth synth sound.

Commenting on the track, the band said: “The song essentially builds to a chorus that outlines the pain of speaking to someone who won’t stop talking.

“The verses follow life setbacks and lead to the conversation with this person in the chorus being all the more infuriating and ‘coma-inducing’. We recorded it with Chris Marshall (Gerry Cinnamon) and Johnny Madden (Baby Strange) and are so excited to release it.”

Comprising of Ewan Hearns (Lead vocals, guitar), Nathan Stokoe (Lead guitar, vocals), Ewan Nicholson (Drums) and Craig McDermott (Bass), the band are a hot export that’s worth keeping an eye on.

Following up on their previous singles ‘Twelve Month Seasonal Depression’ and debut single ‘Fraud’, Pizza Crunch have a strong catalogue of songs behind them which can only grow stronger if they continue with what they’re doing.
