Patawawa return with new single ‘That Guy’

After a summer of huge festival performances, Patawawa has returned with new single ‘That Guy’. The Derbyshire hailed electronic indie-funk trio conjure up an exuberant explosion of bass lines and disco beats.

With a hint of DIY indie sensibility, the single transports the group “back to bedroom”, as the band explain. Although stripped back to their original roots, the single still sees huge pop choruses and a funky soundscape to go with it.

Patawawa were picked in 2018 as NME’s ‘One to Watch’ before their debut EP had ever been released. Since then they’ve defined their own sound and established themselves as a promising artist in the UK’s indie scene, likened to artists such as Madonna, Two Door Cinema Club, and Foals.

Speaking ahead of the release of the single, Beth Garrett explained how Karma Kid worked on the single and gave the song a bit of ‘xtra pizzazz’.
