After being praised and nurtured from The 1975, they have bagged a spot on their UK tour coming in spring 2016. The Japanese House is 19-year-old, London-based musician, Amber Bain. Her debut single ‘Still’ was premiered by Zane Low back in his Radio 1 days where it was regarded as the ‘Next Hype’. Now onto her second EP ‘Clean’, which was released earlier this month.
Being produced by 1975s’ Matt Healy and George Daniel, you can tell they’ve added influences of atmospheric 80’s synths from their latest track ‘Love Me’. After that, it’s where the similarities stop. Bain makes the song her own with warm, dream-pop sounds that wash over the listener like you’re standing in the ocean getting taken over by the waves. It might be one of my favourite debut tracks I’ve heard in quite a while, but then I have quite a few!
