Oliver Marson showcases eclectic style of synthwave and pop
Synthwave artist Oliver Marson is back with his sophomore single ‘Time for Love’ which is a pop song at heart with a twist.
The London-based singer, songwriter and composer is full of surprises. What starts off as a formulaic pop song can often veer off into something completely different half way through.
‘Time for Love’ features some ethereal 80s synth pop vibes and 70s new wave which pulls the rug from underneath the listener’s to keep them guessing and constantly on their toes.
Much like his influences of the past like Byran Ferry, David Bowie and Serge Gainsbourg, Oliver Marson has the ability to provoke, haunt and lift in one song. In him, we have a shadowy new wave rocker for the modern age.
Following up on the excellent debut ‘Cocaine Romance’ in Summer 2019, the a catchy synth pop showpiece has reached over 30,000 streams on Spotify. Mixed with clandestine punk and gothic rock sensibilities, the track seamlessly switches between these modes through the song, whilst lyrically exploring toxic human behaviour.
