Essex band Nothing But Thieves have released another track in preparation for the release of their second album, ‘Broken Machine’ which comes out on September 8th this year. Although only released on August 15th, it has already become a firm favourite amongst fans.
This punchy yet slightly dark song is jam-packed with outstanding guitar riffs which, although relatively simplistic, further adds to the ominous feel. Conor Mason also displays some impressive vocal skills throughout the song. Whilst the band’s biggest influence is said to be Jeff Buckley, Conor’s impresses his fans with Bellamy and Cornell-esque screams as it leads into the chorus. The song is pretty heavy so perhaps isn’t one to add to your chill-out playlist, but nevertheless is quite possibly one the best new releases of this year so far.
It’s clear that Nothing But Thieves are on their way to the top; just as you begin to think that they have reached their optimum, they come out with another absolutely immense track. Judging by recent releases ‘Sorry’ and ‘Amsterdam’, ‘Broken Machine’ is sure to be one of the biggest album releases of 2017. It won’t be long before we begin to see this band filling arenas and headlining huge festivals. Fortunately, the band will be touring around the UK in November, performing at slightly smaller venues.
