Leeds-based indie rock outfit, Clay have packed a big hole into the music industry. They are hungry for success, will stop at nothing to get it and create music to fit a target audience rather than creating anything of musical merit. It’s business rather than pleasure, a sharp mind as opposed to the naivety of creative integrity.
The four lads Joe Harvey, Jack Harvey, Rob Gration and Danny Armitage sit somewhere between Honne and The 1975, a halfway house between straight up indie rock and electro production. The song reminds me of a previous band we have previously covered, Swiss Lips with the electronic beat and in fact Joe’s voice has a similar relivance.
The ‘Heaven’ EP is out on Friday and a UK tour kicks off at the beginning of August.
