Intertwining melancholy songwriting with stirring electronica, Nathan Ball releases his lead single ‘Blindside’ from his forthcoming debut album due this year.
This piano-led ballad has haunting verses which build up to a euphoric chorus of erupting cymbals and striking vocals from the well-established indie artist.
Recording the opening piano build up in an old chapel on the outskirts of Bath, Nathan Ball takes in his surroundings to make the dark single feel so euphoric.
‘Blindside’ documents a relationship falling apart, the feeling of losing sight of who each other is and craving that connection and emotion back.
Working with producer Max Radford and the esteemed Nicolas Verhnes (The War on Drugs, Daughter, Deerhunter) on mixing duties, Nathan Ball is set to have a landmark year with his debut album due in the coming months.
With each release, Nathan invites listeners into his vivid musical world earmarked by classic songwriting and house-inspired flourishes, showing an eagerness to experiment and push sonic boundaries.
With a five date UK Tour to now look forward to later in 2021, this year looks set to be a milestone one for Nathan’s career and an exciting new phase for the burgeoning artist.
