Northampton five-piece Sarpa Salpa have dropped new track ‘Forwards Backwards’.

The new release is a nailed-on summer favourite; a catchy piece of funk-filled alt-pop, coming in at under three-minutes and with packed full of infectious hooks.

The ICM Ones To Watch 2020 artist explained: “The song is about remaining in the present and not dwelling over the past too much, nor fearing the future! Just being in the now. ‘It’s easy looking backwards’ referring to the desire to hold on to memories and waste our time in the present. ‘The future’s coming but it’ll never arrive’ commenting on how you can never get to the future as it moves at the same speed and we only ever live in the now. It’s almost a reminder to myself to appreciate things more.”

The band will be playing the BBC Radio 1 Big Weekend online event on Sunday, May 24th.

Sarpa Salpa will be heading to Southampton for the first time alongside Neverman and Bought It For The Bottle. Come join us at Heartbreakers on Friday, September 25th for a night of action-packed indie rock and pop. Click the poster below for tickets and more info!
