Marsicans

Marsicans have received more than enough love from team ICM over the years. Now, as they begin to reach their peak, the Leeds lads are embarking on their biggest headline UK tour to date; spanning their bright and colourful music across the UK in association with Abbie Macarthy’s Good Karma Club.

Marsicans HQ, you have travelled around the world delivering your upbeat dance-pop, which City/Venue/Show would you say you’ve enjoyed the most, and why?

“City: Berlin. We had a great show there and it’s one hell of a place.

“Venue: Ancienne Belgique in Brussels. It’s a lovely building, and they looked after us amazingly.

“Show: Our headline show at Church in Leeds last year. That one will always stick with me. It was everything you could ever ask for and more from a hometown show.”

You return to London to play for your biggest headline date so far in the capital at Dingwalls this April (5th), what should we expect from the show now you’ve teamed up with BBC Introducing’s Abbie Mac and her Good Karma Club tour?

“Abbie has curated an absolute ear feast of a lineup, and will be spinning some tunes throughout the evenings. There’ll be new material for sure, and a colour-coordinated wardrobe for the ages.”

Your tunes have been listened to by millions across the world as Spotify informs us, Spotify is now such a big player in the industry, how important do you think it is for emerging acts?

“It’s unavoidable how important it is. Being on playlists is obviously very helpful getting the band out there. But things like artist radio and similar bands I think are a very good and easy way of discovering new acts.”

If you could describe the Marsicans sound like an item of food, which would it be?

“Yoghurt Raisins.”

And finally, go on, give us the lowdown on new music, you know you wanna..?

“Let’s just say don’t get too comfortable. There’s lots of music written. And you’ll get to hear a lot of it. Some of it very soon!”
