Saytr Play, the awfully charming quartet from Preston, are my latest discovery. I’m very proud to say you heard these guys from ICM first, purely because I have a super good feeling about them.
Vocally, I hear Catfish, but instrumentally I hear something that I’ve not actually come across before. It’s the coolest kind of indie. You know what I mean. The simple little nooks and crannies of beats and chords that just make a song cool. It’s the type of music you could listen to any time of the year.
SP have definitely had a page turn on what sort of style of music they wanted to create. Their original EP ‘Day Saver’; although still focusing on indie music, has a much more calmer and acoustic feel. Which is awesome. But who wasn’t trying to be Ed Sheeran in 2014? The change for me is absolutely welcomed in my opinion and I love their more upbeat indie pop.
Keep up the good work lads!
