It stays true to the band’s roots, soaked in indie-rock goodness with a consistent thumping beat coupled with screeching guitar riffs and powerful vocals. Speak is an intriguing amalgamation of High Tyde’s previous styles and past work, yet it demonstrates how far the band has come with and how much more they have to offer. Despite being young individuals Louis, Spencer, Connor and Cody express maturity and talent well beyond their years and their grasp on songwriting and developing their own unique sound is remarkable.
Speak brings together everything fans have begun to love about High Tyde, and the track conveys the energy and passion that is brought to every High Tyde live performance. It keeps the tropical vibes most songs feature, but also edges towards a darker, rockier side the band has teased with previous tracks. Despite so many elements and sounds throughout Speak; it avoids becoming just a combination of noises with each component adding its own signature style.
