Oozing succulent melodies and juicy indie pop, Los Angeles artist Lisa Crawley has just dropped her new single ‘Clear History’.

Originally from New Zealand, Lisa spent over five years writing and performing before travelling across the world to independently write, record and produce her infectious rock-pop.

Two albums and four EP’s in, ‘Clear History’ is part of Lisa Crawley’s third album which she is currently working on. The track falls heavy into 90s pop incorporating synthesisers and retro cyberculture. It’s an indie pop gem about ‘pushing ctrl-alt-delete’ on past heartache and memories and making room for new beginnings.

Written and produced with Grammy-nominated producer and frequent collaborator and Rob Kleiner in LA, ‘Clear History’ is a sweet melodic track with an irresistibly catchy beat.

Inspired by video games and 90’s music, the video for the track is heavily inspired by computer nostalgia, arcade sticker photo booths, Iris the cat (who has a higher screen time average according to Lisa), and was created entirely by Lisa on her phone during week 22 of lockdown.

Lisa has managed to open for some major artists such as Suzanne Vega, John Mayer, Jools Holland and Paul Weller. She’s also performed in a critically acclaimed theatre production of ONCE: The Musical in 2019, so it’s fair to say she loves the creative arts.

Speaking about moving to Los Angeles, Lisa Crawley said: “I moved to the other side of the world two months prior to lockdown…to keep busy I’ve been writing, recording and releasing music that’ll be on my third album coming out later this year, and the latest single is ‘Clear History’.

“There’s been some nice moments amidst the move to a new country pre COVID; I’ve had some songs featured on some TV shows such as ‘Stumptown’ and ‘Proven Innocent’ this year and my previous single has been nominated for our NZ songwriting award this year.”

Her indie pop has put Lisa on the map as one of New Zealand’s best melodic pop-writing expats. Check out the music video below and let us know what you think by leaving an ICM Star Rating out of 10.
