LAWRN

London synthpop trio LAWRN return with new single ‘The Westside’ as the band’s upcoming EP nears.

Following up on their 80s pop ballad ‘Like Forever’, LAWRN pump their new cut with melodic riffs and moving lyrics.

Written about a trip lead singer Andy took to see his girlfriend in LA while she was on tour. The band wanted to capture that perfect California summer in this song – Venice Beach, sun and love.

It’s the second single ahead of the EP and incorporate a lot of what we heard in ‘Like Forever’ but with the addition of washy synths and shiny guitar chords. This track has the potential to be a huge commercial hit as their blend of alt pop has a groovy beat and frontman Andy has a solid songwriting capability.

‘The Westside’ has got a dreamy and ethereal nostalgic to the song; it’s very atmospheric and the guitar after the choruses give me a feeling of late-night driving through LA’s bright lights but you can’t hear anything but the hustle and bustle around continues.

LAWRN have once again proven they can produce a big summer pop tune. There’s a lot of 80’s influences within their sound that’s similar to the likes of LANY, The 1975 and Lauv. Stay tuned for their new, as yet, untitled EP. Follow their Facebook page here and check out the single below.
