Slacker pop queen Lauran Hibberd has revealed a pulsating new music video for her first single of 2020 ‘Bang Bang Bang’.
Primed to capitalise on a whirlwind twelve months, the hotly-tipped Isle of Wight native delves further into her indie rock cannon, producing her boldest release to date in ‘Bang Bang Bang’, a charisma-fuelled, sing-along-inducing anthem designed for bigger audiences and bigger stages.
The newcomer’s amplified potential has certainly ramped up expectations, sparking comparisons to contemporaries including Phoebe Bridgers and Weezer.
For the video Lauran spent hours in front of the green screen recording different scenes as a weather reporter, superwoman, a court judge and dozens more as she says her TV dream “came ture”.
Discussing the visuals behind ‘Bang Bang Bang’, Lauren Hibberd explained: “Filmed in a garage on the Isle Of Wight, my dream of being a TV star finally came true. This concept kinda came from my wondering of what a world full of Lauran Hibberd’s would look like, turns out it’s pretty funny.”
Having spent the majority of 2019 on the road, notching up extensive UK/EU support tours alongside US heavyweights Hippo Campus and The Regrettes, in addition to her debut appearance on Glastonbury’s BBC Introducing stage, Hibberd’s dazzling live show continues to woo audiences, and with a second UK headline tour lined up this month, before a debut trip stateside for SXSW and April UK tour with The Academic, her remarkable rise shows no sign of slowing anytime soon.
