JW Paris produce fuzzy and melodic alt rock
London-based alt-indie rockers JW Paris are back with their new single ‘Favourite Thing’ as they prepare to pounce on 2020.
The band were regarded as a ‘Band To Watch in 2019’ and they have certainly lived up to that expectation this year. After an onslaught of single releases, including ‘Radio’ and ‘Fly,’ the new cut is melodic and fuzzy in sound.
Lead singer and guitarist Danny Collins asks, “can you feel the emotion inside of me?” A fitting question as real talk, heartfelt lyrics resonate from the get-go. ‘Favourite Thing’s’ bass and guitar work result in a powerful, direct and infectious indie rock and roll record.
Topped off with a horn section, this one is playful and fierce at the same time – a trait that JW Paris have mastered since starting out just a few years ago.
The band added: “We were sitting in the middle of Joshua Tree thinking about some of the struggles and pressures, (ironic we know) you have being in a band and working full time and various other things that come into play, and actually when we sat back and thought about where it all started and where we’d come, it’s actually quite special.
“Sometimes, like most things you really have to sit back to appreciate what you have and what you’re fighting to achieve. For us this track was about appreciating the struggle and hopefully speaks to others in the same way.”
Playing alongside the likes of Pretty Vicious, Slaves, The Amazons and Yonaka is becoming something of the norm for the band, whose music has reached the ears and won over the hearts of fans across the globe.
The duo’s arena-sized anthems have been heard on Sky Sports, BT Sports and have even been taken up as Team GB’s 2019 sponsorship song. Listen below and give it an ICM Rating out of
