Singer-songwriter James Wood returns with his sophomore single ‘Blue Eyed Woman’ as the indie-folk/country artist begins to make a name for himself.
Previously the frontman of Kent band The Gallery’s, James has started a new adventure, honing in on his rich new sound.
‘Blue Eyed Woman’ is a magical balance between happiness, nostalgia and melancholy taken to the likes of Neil Young, Bob Dylan and Jake Bugg.
James Wood’s soul-touching lyrics matched with his unique guitar ability is completely captivating. His stripped-back approach keeps everything simple, yet extremely effective.
It is a song of love and acceptance, as James says: “Blue Eyed Woman was written about not feeling good enough for the person you love most.
“Sometimes, speaking about your own difficulties is hard and it can affect things.
“This song is acknowledging and accepting that people are not perfect.
“However, getting through tough times is what makes us stronger ‘I’ll love and care, always be there, for you, my Blue Eyed Woman’”.
His early recordings have been done on a shoestring budget in Kent, but the lack of any budget doesn’t show in these stripped back songs of life and love.
