Melodic and brooding, ‘Coming Back’ by Brighton based band Isla North really captures the emotions felt when experiencing a difficult choice.

Lyrically relatable and dripping in raw emotion and angst, this track is definitely one for the broken-hearted. Starting off slow yet structured, all musical elements within this track really build and complement each other; clean-cut, yet atmospheric guitar, intertwines itself amongst a steady marching rhythm of bass and drums.

With similarities to early Nothing But Thieves, the powerful vocals in the chorus really take this track to euphoric heights. To bring the track to its finish, all instruments explode into an indie rock frenzy which matches the power portrayed in the lyrics.

It’s almost as if all emotions and feelings are let go off into a supernova of pure passion which really stays with you moments after the track has finished. Lyrically powerful and musically raw, ‘Coming Back’ is a perfect track for a lonely evening.
