INHEAVEN present ‘Stupid Things’ single ahead of debut LP

Yesterday, INHEAVEN presented their latest single ‘Stupid Things’ to the world, which is another song that shall be featured on their debut album (out 1st September).

This quartet waste no time introducing their heavy guitar riffs, powerful bass licks and pounding drums as they kick off the song in an almighty fashion. Quickly followed by definitive lead and mellow backing vocals, the instrumental side of the song remains constant throughout. It becomes clear almost instantly that this song is one that is going to get stuck in your head due to its ever so apparent catchy nature.

In my perspective, the track seems to be a cryptic yet overt love song during which a relationship is formed and then it breaks down due to one of these individuals saying ‘Stupid Things’ as the line goes ‘And forever, I’ll regret, all the stupid things I said.’

The song describes very typical feelings felt throughout the different stages of a relationship and the aftermath of a relationship and this is something which is bound to make it very relatable for near enough every individual who hears it no matter what their age and whether or not they are over said relationship now.

In comparison to previously released songs, this song despite still being quite heavy instrumental wise is considerably calmer than some of the others that they already have out and this is works well due to the themes behind the song because it does tell of quite a sad story. This is something that could also work in their favour depending on the track listing order of their album as it could well see some variation between from song to song.
