‘World On Fire’; the rebelliously punky return from the four-piece alternative rock band INHEAVEN.
From the offset, you are vigorously blasted with striking drum beats, chaotic vocals and an overall energetic feel that permeates the entire track. Despite its generic pop structure, the new release sits perfectly amongst the band’s previous singles as a sweatbox-venue-ready anthem.
Jake and Chloe’s distinct vocals cut through the track with hardcore grit, this paired with the fast-paced guitar riffs and Slaves-esque chant-like lyricism is arguably what makes it feel like the ‘World On Fire’ truck has driven straight at you and buried itself in your face.
With powerfully meaningful lyrics throughout, the song builds on each trump-bashing political verse to mosh around for the thunderous chorus. The climax to that of the last chorus is one that is fueled by screaming guitars and weightless energy which provides an undeniably euphoric and atmospheric moment.
For me personally, ‘World On Fire’ would be the product if Wolf Alice, Slaves and Black Honey all birthed a musical baby.
The single is taken from the band’s upcoming self-titled debut album – produced by Tom Dalgety (Royal Blood, Pixies, The Maccabees) and recorded at Rockfield Studios in Monmouth. If Dalgety and ‘World On Fire’ are anything to go off then this debut album by INHEAVEN is going to be an iconic and monumental fiery ball of remarkable talent; which goes without saying, it won’t be one to miss.
INHEAVEN’s debut album is due for release on 1st September and is available to pre-order here.
