HUNYBEES unveil extravagant indie rock debut EP ‘Filth’

Hertfordshire indie rock duo HUNYBEES have just unveiled their biggest project to date – debut EP ‘Filth’.

The four-track extravaganza comprises of cutting edge indie rock with fuzzy undertones and raw vocals.

Lead single, and last release, ‘I Keep Falling In Love’ blends those elements with an optimistic summery tone melody with deepened vocals creating the HUNYBEES’ distinguished sound.

“This track rounds off the EP. It’s about that innate desire for love and to be loved, even when we know it may not work out,” explains vocalist Charlie Preston. “It’s a playful, fun song that doesn’t pretend to be anything it’s not.

“We’ve played with the simplicity of it by using a whole bunch of our influences, some blues in the bass, an indie rock guitar line and post punk vocal elements.”

Charlie and Louis Bailey (drums) have had an electric journey since forming in 2020 with hit singles ‘Better This Time’ and ‘Ecstasy’ which was nominated for Best Music Video at last year’s ICM Awards.

Honing in on a range of musical influences, such as The Strokes, Richard Hell and The Magic Gang, HUNYBEES create an intricate yet familiar sound of electrifying and charismatic indie rock.

Other tracks, ‘You’re Not Special’, ‘Bad Bitch’ and ‘Sad Love Song’ complete the EP showcasing the duo’s broad spectrum of rock music they can play. A mixture of summery anthems to literal sad love songs, Carlie and Louis have an unforgettable charisma and energy on and off stage.

The train hasn’t stopped yet as HUNYBEES plough into 2021 at full speed. Filth is a cracking collection of songs that outline their trials as young people, in a modern age and lack of success in love.
